Don't Tell The Bride

This is a very popular show on BBC3 and last night I watched the follow up programme where the makers interviewed the Bride whose husband to be had organised their big day without any help, input or ideas from the Bride.

You can imagine the stress the brides went through, can you imagine leaving all the planning of your wedding to your fiance?

Well these brave or some would say foolish girls just did that.

What was interesting was that these 'Brides to Be' were all self confessed 'control freaks' and had been planning their wedding in their head since they were little girls I suppose they had to be to make interesting telly for us voyeurs.

The majority of the grooms did a good job but indulged in some very boozy days and nights leading up to the big day!

As a wedding professional myself with more than 15 years experience I always tell my brides to take a deep breath and enjoy the day because it goes in a flash. many girls get hung up on the details and forget to enjoy themselves.

Watching this programme I felt somewhat vindicated with this advice because without exception all the girls said that they stressed about the details way too much and it was about the commitment to each other that counted. On reflection all the couples had a brilliant day and agreed that it had helped their relationship.

  1. Party balloons are mostly made of a natural latex tapped from rubber trees, and can be filled with air, helium, water, or any other suitable liquid or gas. The rubber's elasticity makes the volume adjustable.Balloon Decorations
